Job Interview Questions – How To Answer “Why Should We Hire You”?
Job interview questions tend to stress out most job seekers. And even though interview questions are easy to find for free all over the internet and in any interview book at the library, the questions are not the problem. The answers are.
Most people going to job interviews still have no idea how to answer questions they will most likely be asked, like the common question “why should we hire you”?
Job interview questions are simple to answer when you use my secret 3ME formula that I have been teaching job seekers for years. Let me show you how it works to answer “why should we hire you”?
You organize your answer into #1, #2 or #2 and provide a 2-3 minute summary of your top reasons for why you are the best person for the job and why they need to hire you. This is your final opportunity to show them why you and only you are the right candidate for the position so think of it as your closing argument and make it compelling and persuasive.
The reasons you provide at the end of the interview will be the very last thing they hear from you. It’s critical that the what you mention directly address all their needs. Make sure you focus on your top 3 strengths that they absolutely need for the role and will help them achieve their goals. This is the time to step up your game and tell them exactly why you have the skills to do the job, what you bring to the table and most importantly, what you can do for them once they hire you for the job.
Finally, be sure to provide at least one example from your previous jobs where you excelled and let them know you can provide them with a similar result. The key is to leave them with a feeling that “we must hire her” so she can achieve that same result here for us.
As a former HR Manager, I personally liked hearing statements like “when you hire me, I will make it my top priority to… (insert top issue for them)…just like I did at my last job” and finish off by addressing their #1 concern.
